NHS Entitlements

  • NHS Sight Tests are available if you
    • Are under 16, 16-18 in full time education or over 60
    • Have diabetes or glaucoma
    • Have a parent/sibling/child with glaucoma and you are over 40
    • Receive income support, income based Job Seekers Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
    • Have a HC2, HC3 or a NHS tax credit exemption certificate
    • Have been prescribed ‘complex lenses’
    • Are registered sight impaired (SI) or severely sight impaired (SSI)
  • NHS Spectacle Vouchers
    • available for some of the above groups including children and those receiving low income benefits – please ask for further information

Additional procedures

  • Additional chargeable diagnostic tests may be recommended for NHS patients attending for a sight test if required
    • Retinal Photography  £ 25
    • Visual Fields Examination  £ 35
    • Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)  £ 35
    • 2 or more diagnostic tests at same visit  £50

Private Fees will depend on the type of eye exam and diagnostic tests required

  • Contact lens fees
    • New evaluation and fitting (includes trial lenses/ teach / 3 month follow up) from £ 80 *

    • Contact lens review and sight test  £ 65
    • Contact lens review/check up  £ 45
      • Additional diagnostic tests as above if required
  • Contact Lens aftercare schemes – from £ 7.00 direct debit per month
