NHS Entitlements and Examination Fees
NHS Entitlements
- NHS Sight Tests are available if you
- Are under 16, 16-18 in full time education or over 60
- Have diabetes or glaucoma
- Have a parent/sibling/child with glaucoma and you are over 40
- Receive income support, income based Job Seekers Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- Have a HC2, HC3 or a NHS tax credit exemption certificate
- Have been prescribed ‘complex lenses’
- Are registered sight impaired (SI) or severely sight impaired (SSI)
- NHS Spectacle Vouchers
- available for some of the above groups including children and those receiving low income benefits – please ask for further information
Additional procedures
- Additional diagnostic tests may be recommended for NHS patients attending for a sight test if required
